Discussing funding issues at Nagambie healthcare
I recently visited Nagambie hospital and the staff there are concerned that they will be unable to properly take care of patients due to a shortage of funding. In fact, one nurse, Veronica specifically said to me, “I have a duty of care to my patients and this funding shortfall is not going to enable me to do that.”
The management of Nagambie healthcare is expected to cover an additional $300,000 funding shortfall due to new EBAs.
Minister, the Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes claimed in a media release on 15 August 2019 that there is increased funding for Nagambie healthcare which runs amongst other things the Nagambie Bushnursing hospital. The $194,000 Minister Symes was referring to is in fact, recurrent funding, and not new funding.
