Interview with Georgie Crozier, Shadow Minister for Health
ABC 774 – RADIO MELBOURNE
Trioli discusses a previous interview with Jenny Mikakos, Health Minister, on the State’s long waiting list and plays an excerpt. Mikakos says she and the Government is striving to give patients the best access to health services more quickly than the previous Coalition Government.
Deputy Liberal Party Leader Crozier denies any misgiving the previous State Government has been accused of and points out Mikakos is only trying to shift the blame of her administration’s mismanagement.
Trioli says she believes Mikakos is not blaming them but is acknowledging several savage Federal Government budget cuts. She adds there is also the issue of rising health care costs.
Crozier says the Andrews Government has failed to manage the population increase which is evident on the current hospital crisis. She says budget for projects across the State should be reinstated to the healthcare system.
Crozier discusses other possible solutions like fixing the system of the waiting lists.
