An article by The Age today shows that Cedar Meats was slow to respond to reports of COVID-19 by workers, as it considered these to be “rumour and innuendo”. The article also acknowledges that the Department of Health and Human Services was slow to shut down the site despite a number of workers being infected with COVID-19. It identifies a number of concerns with the Department’s handling of the situation.
