An article by The Age outlines the unexpected announcement by the Andrews Labor Government to open a second injecting centre near the Queen Victoria Market.
This announcement has come without community consultation, with the City of Melbourne, local traders, and residents making very clear they have not been consulted on the location of the proposed injecting centre.
I told the The Age that the area around the injecting centre in Richmond has been subjected to a rise in anti-social behaviour, drug dealing, public urination, and other crime, and Daniel Andrews has failed to address the issues presented by the current injecting centre in Richmond.
