An article by the Geelong Advertiser reveals a document outlining patient care was recently discovered by a member of the public on the street near Barwon Health’s McKellar Centre.
An investigation has begun to understand why this document ended up on the street and why correct document destruction procedures were not followed, especially as other patient documents were also found on the street near the centre in the last year.
I told the Geelong Advertiser that patients have a right to know how their health information was left on the street.
