An article today by the Herald Sun reveals the Northern Health Foundation, which helps raise money for Northern Health, used the details of people tested for COVID-19 to contact them in order to solicit donations.
I told the Herald Sun I was concerned about the breach of privacy and also said that if the Andrews Labor Government provided frontline healthcare workers with the protective equipment they needed to stay safe, then there would be no need for hospitals to pass the collection plate around to buy their own. It’s shocking that the Andrews Labor Government would collect private information of people being tested for COVID-19 only to then use this information to send requests for money.
