With the Prime Minister Tony Abbott, Hon Kelly O'Dwyer MP, Hon Michael O'Brien MP and Senator Scott Ryan this morning for a $4million announcement at Very Special Kids.
The charity can now buy the building - providing certainty for the 900 families it supports each year.
This is very good news for Victoria's sickest children.
VSK Hospice offers 24-hour nursing care for children with life-threatening conditions and a family services clinic.
The hospice in Malvern has been rented by the charity for more than 20 years.
Services are provided free of charge and include counselling, specialist care, sibling support and bereavement support.
70 per cent of Very Special Kids' operating budget has been raised through fundraising by volunteers, community supporters and donors.
VSK will now need to negotiate with the State Government to purchase the property.
