Last Wednesday Georgie attended the official opening of Albert Park College with the Minister for Education, the Hon. Martin Dixon.
The opening was well attended by parents, students and a number of widely respected community representatives in the college’s newly built hall.
The guests were addressed by Albert Park College Principal, Mr Steve Cook; School Council President, Mr Dominic Grounds; and Minister Dixon.
School captains Nova Harrison and Cameron Ryder made inspiring speeches and guests were treated to outstanding performances by the school choir and some extremely talented student musicians.
Opening its doors in February this year, Albert Park College has quickly established itself as a quality government secondary school highly in demand, with more than 300 applications for the 150 Year 7 places for 2012.
“It’s wonderful to see this newly established school achieving so much in such a short space of time,” Member for Southern Metropolitan Region, Georgie Crozier said.
“With the enthusiasm of teachers, students and parents that I witnessed today, I’m confident Albert Park College will continue to grow and produce excellent graduates well into the future.”
