Heart disease - biggest killer of Australian women

Many people assume breast cancer is the biggest cause of death for women. It's not.

Heart disease kills three times more and is the single biggest killer of Australian women . . . taking a life every hour of every day.

You don't have to be old, you don't have to be overweight and your risk increases after menopause.

Heart Foundation's annual fundraiser went to Parliament House for Go Red for Women Day and I joined Victorian Heart Foundation CEO Diana Heggie and Coalition colleagues on the steps to mark the occasion.
