Labor's kindergarten announcement fails to address the real issue (4.10.2018)

Labor's announcement on kindergartens does nothing to address the fact that some of the fastest growing suburbs of Melbourne don't have adequate kinder services.

Some suburbs have had huge population growth of mainly young families but no corresponding growth in kindergarten places and other vital services like doctors, healthcare workers and police.

Too many Victorian four year olds are already missing out on kindergarten with participation rates in some areas down to around 65%.

Melbourne's population is now 5 million and growing by an average of 2,700 people every week but Daniel Andrews and Labor have no strategy to guarantee services are keeping up with growth.

Only the Liberal Nationals have a plan to ease the population squeeze and decentralise jobs and services throughout Victoria.
