Renewal funding was provided by the former Coalition Government. This exciting renewal and expansion project at the Surrey Hills Preschool includes the Maternal and Child Health Centre and additional kindergarten places.
The project was made possible through a grant of $350,000 from the former Victorian Coalition Government with the remaining $524,000 being fully funded by Council. This significant redevelopment will not only increase the number of local kindergarten programs available for children, but also extend the facility to enable the provision of Maternal and Child Health services in the local area.
The centre will allow families to access education and health services at one convenient location. The works include an extension of the building and a second teaching room as well as modifications to the children's bathroom, offices and associated utility spaces.
The Maternal and Child Health Centre includes a consulting room, inclusive of a waiting area, kitchen and bathroom. The design for the extensions and new building works has been developed in partnership with the Surrey Hills Preschool management committee and Maternal and Child Health Nurses.
