PSOs patrolling more than 100 stations from 6pm until the last train - every night

The Napthine Government is committed to building a safer Victoria

Protective Service Officers (PSOs) are now patrolling more than 100 railway stations from 6pm until the last train.

The largest recruitment in Victoria Police’s history is being completed with 1,700 additional police officers and 940 PSOs.

To support the important sentencing and parole laws we have introduced, the Government is also investing to increase Victoria’s prison capacity.

We continue to look at ways to improve community safety and crack down on crime.

Protective Service Officers are providing commuters and local traders with a greater sense of security.

I welcome the significant difference they have made in protecting commuters and providing safer travel on public transport.
